CHALLENGE Program
Challenge Program
Gifted and Academic Enrichment Program

The Challenge Program is designed to meet the needs of academically advanced and formally identified gifted students who are seeking new learning challenges. Taught by teachers who are specialists in their fields, the challenge Program provides enriched curricular studies with an emphasis on a healthy balanced lifestyle. Activities in the program are designed to engage students and allow them to apply their knowledge in real-life situations. The program focuses on preparing students for the challenges they will face in secondary school and beyond. Students who achieve success in the Challenge Program are those who work at an accelerated pace, manage their time well and are motivated to work cooperatively with others in a positive learning environment.,

The Challenge program is offered at three sites. Students apply to a site based on the location of their home. A guide to which school a student should apply to is available at the Choices at Seven website.

Our ATLAS, Challenge and LEAP Choices at 7 programs are intended to be two year programs.
For a variety of reasons sometimes there are available spaces for students to enter in grade 8.
As the rest of the students in the program have already been working together for an entire school year this entry can sometimes be challenging.
If your child applies and is offered a position it is important to discuss a transition plan carefully with Calvin Park administration and then the Choices teachers.

As well, there are some prerequisites for entering the programs in the grade 8 year.

Information Session 2013 for the three sites:
TBA

Thank you for your interest.
